xonclock is an analog clock for linux desktop. I just installed it on my Ubuntu. There were a few issues when trying to install.
Issue 1: Issue with ./configure
Solved by firing up the terminal and typing
sudo ln -s /usr/include/freetype2/freetype /usr/include/freetype
Issue 2: Issue with placement.o
Error was similar to
/usr/bin/ld: placement.o: undefined reference to symbol 'sincosf@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
/usr/bin/ld: note: 'sincosf@@GLIBC_2.2.5' is defined in DSO /usr/lib/libm.so.6
Solved by running
Issue 3: Unable to parse .xonclockrc
After this, for some reason the config file for xonclock was missing. So I copied the xonclockrc-example from src folder to .xonclockrc in the home directory by
cp src/xonclockrc-example ~/.xonclockrc
Issue 4: Start automatically on login
On ubuntu, open Startup Application, click on Add and put the name and xonclock in the command.
If you face any issue, log in a comment.
